3D Printing

Since a couple of years, Oyibo is active with 3D Prining. He owns 2 printers, a small printer which he got as a Christmas present (still thanks a million) and a big Delta printer from Flsun. Starting with a little demo, Oyibo soon started to make his own models in Blender. Slicing in Cura and printing on the Flsun Super Racer. Perfect combo.

The are a million brands of PLA  (Polylactic acid) filaments available but Oyibo sticks to what he's comfortable with. Standard filament comes from 123-3D (Jupiter series is very OK) and for the specialised filaments, Oyibo uses REAL filament (an indipendent Dutch brand) and sometimes eSun (rainbow colours).

As the process of 3D printing can be challenging, Oyibo plans to put out a video series to make something from and idea, over to create in Blender, export to Cura and print in 3D. Even with a single efector (print head), you are still able to print with multiple colours.

As most of Oyibo's models print without any problem, here are some small tips that might help you;

  • Clean your bed with alcohol (PLA hates greasy surfaces)
  • Heat your bed to minimal 60 Deg Celsius
  • Heat your nozzle to minimal 220 Deg Celsius
  • Use Gyroid infill patern with a density of 15%
  • After printing, let your bed cool down (This will release your print without damaging)
